Africa4Resilience (A4R) is built on the strength of national Communities of Practice (CoPs) across Africa. Each CoP brings together civil society organizations, community actors, and strategic partners working collectively to enhance climate resilience and sustainability in their country contexts.
Kenya4Resilience (K4R)
K4R is a vibrant platform of civil society organizations committed to strengthening local climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction (DRR), and food systems resilience in Kenya. It facilitates policy engagement, promotes community-led solutions, and champions cross-sectoral approaches. K4R is also advancing climate finance access for grassroots actors and supporting capacity development on climate governance.
U4R fosters collaboration among Ugandan civil society actors working on climate change adaptation, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable livelihoods. It is building technical capacity on early warning systems, disaster preparedness, and gender-responsive climate action while amplifying local voices in national climate policymaking.
T4R convenes community organizations, practitioners, and policy actors to co-create context-specific solutions for climate resilience in Tanzania. Through integrated projects like the Mpwapwa Climate Resilience initiative, T4R promotes inclusive DRR planning, sustainable agriculture, and cross-border learning with neighboring CoPs.
BF4R empowers communities in Burkina Faso to address the dual challenges of climate shocks and socio-political instability. The CoP supports civil society actors to implement conflict-sensitive climate adaptation programs, enhance natural resource governance, and engage in national and regional advocacy processes.
